Sasha Gier

Sasha Gier is a widely recognized kickboxing coach within the World Kickboxing Association and has successfully trained 15 championship belt holders. He is also a boxing coach with the Canadian Amateur Boxing Association (CABA) and is actively involved in developing up-and-coming competitive boxers.
A former Sergeant with the Air Assault Unit of Elite Soviet Marines who immigrated to Canada from the former USSR in 1990. Sasha has worked with professional athletes, top business people as well as with competitive boxers and kick boxers. He especially looks forward to sharing his knowledge and expertise with anyone who is seeking to get an edge on their workouts, fitness levels and in their every day lives.
Kristy La Mantia

Kristy La Mantia has been practicing physiotherapy since 1995. She graduated from the University of Toronto where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. Shortly after graduation, Kristy moved out to Whistler. Originally hired to fill a six-month maternity leave, she has yet to leave and has become an ingrained member of both the Whistler Physiotherapy Group and the Whistler community. She has built a solid clientele with a large local following. Kristy has a special interest in Manual Therapy and Sports injuries and has continued to educate herself with post-graduate Manual and Manipulative Therapy studies. She has experience treating a variety of athletes and has had the opportunity to travel with several Snowboarding teams. Other interests pertaining to physiotherapy are making thermoplastic splints for wrists/hands, custom orthotic fitting, athlete and Siberian Sandbox assessments, and brace fitting. During the Vancouver/Whistler 2010 Winter Olympic Games, Kristy was part of the On-Call Medical team specializing in the fabrication of thermoplastic splinting.
Kristy has been appointed Clinic Director of the Whistler Physiotherapy group, which includes the Marketplace, Creekside and Squamish locations. Presently Kristy divides her time between direct patient care, management and administrative duties within the clinics.
Marilyn Adams

Marilyn Adams is a physiotherapist who has been practicing since 1991, predominantly in Whistler as the co-owner of the Whistler Physiotherapy Group. Her credentials include an Advanced Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Therapy (Part B), a Certificate in Sport Physiotherapy and is a Certified Gunn IMS practitioner. Marilyn is the Director of Physiotherapy for the Canadian Snowboard Federation and is a lead therapist for the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association and the BC Freestyle Ski Association.
Marilyn was selected as both a CSF and CSFA
designated physiotherapist for the Torino 2006
Olympic Winter Games. Marilyn presently divides
her time between direct patient care within the
clinics, administrative and management duties
within the Whistler Physiotherapy Group and consulting/travel
with the National Snowboard and Freestyle Ski
Teams.
Susie Mortensen

Susie Mortensen is a physiotherapist who has been practicing for twenty-seven years in Whistler as the founder and clinic director of the Whistler Physiotherapy Group. She was a physiotherapist to the Canadian Alpine Ski Team from 1982 to 1987 and then spent six years as Chief Therapist with the Canadian Freestyle Ski Team. Susie currently has a VANOC-appointed position as the Biathlon Venue Medical Supervisor for the 2010 Olympics.
Susie has a primarily administrative and managerial role within the Whistler Physiotherapy Group. She oversees the business marketing, purchasing and special events. Her direct patient care is limited to athlete assessments, specialized splint fabrication and brace fitting.
Susie is a member of the Whistler Business Readiness Committee for the 2010 Olympics. She is also the past chair of the Whistler Health and Wellness Committee reporting to Tourism Whistler and a past board member of the Whistler Chamber of Commerce.
Marnie Melsted, BSc, RD
Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist
As a Registered Dietitian and a trained chef, Marnie's appreciation for food goes beyond the palate. She is a graduate of the Dietetics Program at the University of British Columbia, a registrant of the B.C. College for Dietitians, and a member of Dietitians Canada. Her love of food and her talent for cooking started in 1998, when she attended the George Brown College Culinary Arts Program in Toronto.
Her extensive training and understanding of food, nutrition and health give her the ability to translate complex nutritional science into practical advice that you can use.
Marnie is passionate about helping people reach their nutritional goals, enabling them to feel good from the inside out. Her multi-dimensional approach to good eating, includes; nutritional counselling, meal planning, food selection, and food preparation. She presents her clients with a culinary delight, as well as provides a solid education in sustainable, mindful eating practices for optimal health and sport performance.

Tina James
E-RYT 500 Yoga Alliance teacher, Advanced certified Jivamukti teacher, British wheel of yoga associate
Tina James is a pioneer of yoga and emotional healing, she is a teacher of teachers, yoga rehab therapist believing that the breath is the great healer. For the past 20 years Tina has been involved in the yogic world and wellness industry. She spends her time predominately in Whistler at her yoga studio Loka Yoga, where she runs full 200 - 500 hour Teacher training programs twice a year integrated with first nations teachings, there are also regular immersions and retreats that run throughout the year. Dedicated to her studio, Tina teaches 80 class's a month.
Tina teaches rehab and yoga wall programs in small groups and has a large list of private clients, which she teaches in the privacy of their own home. She works with the Canadian Freestyle Team, and has designed programs for the British Lawn Tennis Association and yoga programs for the Football Academy Center of Excellence in England. Tina works with ACL rehab and is creating her first video with a group of her professional skiers, which reflects that yoga can be practiced by anyone, and can be a daily practice to effect change. Tina travels teaching at conferences worldwide, her credentials include a sports science degree and motivational counsellor. She applies yoga in her sports coaching programs for elite athletes, and has worked with drug rehab and young offenders programs, all of which have seen significant results.
Tina also mentored at the gold standard Jivamukti Teacher training in New York 2008 the yoga for the celebrities and to effect change for the beautiful blue planet.
